Is there an order minimum?
There is no minimum order quantity on our standard sheet label configurations, custom printed label sheets, and standard roll label configurations. Please note that ordering custom quantities may increase your cost per product as it requires special handling and packaging.
For custom color labels and custom shape/size labels, a minimum order quantity does apply. The minimum is 100 sheets, ~20 rolls (1" cores), or ~12 rolls (3" cores). The exact roll quantity will depend on a number of factors related to the manufacturing process.

What are the artwork upload guidelines for custom printed labels?
- Resolution is at least 300 dpi
- Bleed extends at least 1/8" past label outline
- Safe margin is observed
- Color palette is CMYK*
- File type is .ai, .eps, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .pdf
- File size is no larger than 40 MB
- Fonts are at least 6 point size
- Borders are at least 0.5 points
- Graphics are embedded (not linked)
- Label outlines have been removed

*Our professional-grade printers can print in CMYK mode only. Any files submitted in RGB will be converted to CMYK before printing which may result in minor color variations. How can I tell if the resolution of my submitted artwork is acceptable?

How can I make my artwork fit properly inside the label area of the Custom Printed Label tool?
To scale your artwork, check the "Lock Aspect Ratio" box in the left-hand column of the "Place Your Artwork" page. This will make it so that the vertical and horizontal measurements increase or decrease together keeping your image proportional.
To stretch your artwork, uncheck the "Lock Aspect Ratio" box in the left-hand column of the "Place Your Artwork" page. This will allow you to stretch your image either vertically or horizontally, independent of the other.Was this answer helpful? 143
Why are there gray lines displayed on the full sheet preview when approving my artwork?

What's a bleed / bleed area?
Bleed is an industry term that refers to the process of extending your design 1/8" (0.125”) past the outline of your label. This “bleed zone” is a buffer that ensures your design prints to the edge of the label, even if printer shifting occurs. You should fill this section with background colors or imagery only, not critical design elements, as it may not make it onto your label. You can turn on bleed guidelines in Maestro Label Designer or see them automatically enabled in the Custom Printed Label tool.

What's a die cut?
The term "die cut" is used to describe the process of cutting shapes from paper and other materials. This process works a lot like a cookie cutter – we place a die cutter on our machines and run it over uncut label paper. The resulting labels have shapes cut into them that correspond to the shape of the die.
This means that the die line is the physical border of your label. You should design your label with the assumption that nothing outside the die line will print or remain on the label once it's peeled up from the liner. If you want your design to go all the way to the edges of your label (as opposed to it having a white border), consider adding a bleed.

How can I ensure that the black areas of my artwork print dark enough?
The easiest way to achieve true black print is by using "plain black" or 100% black ink. The color combination is: 0 Cyan (C), 0 Magenta (M), 0 Yellow (Y), 100 Black (K).
You can also create a "rich black" by utilizing the other ink colors. There are a variety of possible ink combinations, but the most common "rich black" is: 63 Cyan (C), 52 Magenta (M), 51 Yellow (Y), 100 Black (K).Was this answer helpful? 148
Do you offer printed samples or proofs prior to ordering?
Yes, we can send sample packs, digital proofs, or custom printed proofs.
Our pre-printed sample packs are available free of charge. You can choose from a limited number of materials with stock artwork. These are only to showcase the quality that we're capable of producing. Request a sample of our custom printed labels.
Digital proofs of submitted artwork are provided with every custom printed order. If you need another copy of your digital proof, please call customer service at 1-888-575-2235.
Physical proofs of your artwork are available on cut and uncut sheets. Cut sheet proofs are $14.95 + shipping and include your design on the configuration and material of your choice. Uncut sheet proofs are $4.95 and include your design on a full sheet label of your desired material with the label diecuts outlined in gray. What type of adhesive is used on your labels?
We offer a variety of different adhesives across our material lines. They include:
- Standard Permanent – This adhesive offers a strong, permanent backing for your general-purpose labels.
- Heavy-Duty Permanent – This is a non-waterproof, heavy-duty adhesive for tough conditions or longer staying power.
- Weatherproof Permanent – This adhesive is ideal for extreme conditions and/or environments where liquid or moisture are present.
- Removable – This adhesive can be repositioned or removed without leaving any residue.

How can I create high-quality artwork for my labels?

Can you print designs that I have saved in Maestro Label Designer?
Yes. In Maestro Label Designer, click "Print" from the navigation in the top left. In the dialog box that appears, select "Printing by OnlineLabels.com." On the subsequent screen, choose a material, color option, and quantity. After clicking "Next," you'll see a preview of the label and some tips before continuing. Can I print additional information on custom printed label sheets?

What's a non-printable margin?
Non-printable margin is an industry term that refers to the unprintable edges around your label sheet. Every printer on the market today has a fixed, maximum printable area. The area between the edge of the sheet and this fixed boundary is the non-printable margin.
