Many states across the country now require businesses to collect sales tax on online orders. If you're located in any of the following states, you will begin to see sales tax added to your order total throughout the checkout process.

How to submit an exemption

If your business or organization is tax-exempt or you plan to make purchases for resale, you can submit the state-issued documentation or certifications. Below, you can find the necessary forms specific to your state or instructions on how to retrieve them (if applicable). Please complete and submit to purchasing@onlinelabels.com. Include the email address associated with your OnlineLabels.com account, your name, and your company name. Once received and verified, we will update your account and you'll be able to select the tax-exempt option during checkout.

Alabama

Maine

Maryland

The state of Maryland requires the following organizations present an exemption certificate to the retailer when making exempt purchases. Resale certificates sent to us must include all of the following:

  • A signed statement that the purchase is intended for resale
  • The purchaser's name and address
  • The purchaser's Maryland sales and use tax registration number

Massachusetts

Mississippi

The state of Mississippi requires resellers and those purchasing products exempt from the state's sales tax to use the appropriate exemption certificate. Organizations may request a letter from the Department of Revenue stating qualification for exemption. States with self-reported sales tax

We do not collect sales tax in any of the states listed below. If you reside in any of the following states, you may be required to report your own purchases. Please read carefully and look to your state's official website for more information.

Colorado

Online Labels, Inc. is not required to, and does not, collect Colorado sales or use tax. Under Colorado law, purchases are not tax-exempt merely because they were made over the internet or because a seller is not required to collect Colorado tax. Colorado law requires Colorado purchasers to review untaxed purchases and, if any tax is owed, file a Colorado use tax return and pay any tax due.

Louisiana

Your purchase may be subject to Louisiana use tax unless it is specifically exempt. There is no exemption specifically based on the fact that a purchase is made over the internet, by catalog, or by other remote means. Louisiana law requires that use tax liability be paid annually on the individual income tax return, or through other means as may be required by administrative rule.

Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania sales or use tax may be due in connection with the purchase and delivery of tangible personal property to Pennsylvania individuals and businesses.

The purchaser is required to file a use tax return if tax is due in connection with the purchase and delivery in the Commonwealth.

This notice is required pursuant to the provisions of the Tax Reform Code of 1971. 72 P.S. § 7213.2.
