I want to reuse canning jars with 2.5 x 4.5 and I just want to cover existing labels . No printing. I will write in pen. Will these adhere and be fine ?

The Weatherproof Thermal Transfer (TW) features a permanent adhesive that works well for most applications. Since this thermal material is intended for use in a thermal transfer printer with a thermal ink ribbon, you should be able to write on it with a pen. However, for covering up an existing label, we recommend our Blockout for Laser (BT) material at the link below. https://www.onlinelabels.com/materials/blockout-laser-labels

Are these clear or translucent?

Our Weatherproof Direct Thermal (DW) material consists of a synthetic white matte facesheet that is top-coated for direct thermal printing. At this time we don't offer clear thermal roll materials.
