Answering Your Questions About Custom Sheet Labels

Updated 05/11/2023

With so many labeling options available at OnlineLabels.com, it can be difficult to know what label product or service is right for you. Our custom label service allows you to submit artwork to us, and have us print your labels for you on either sheets or rolls.

Custom printed sheets are a great option for those who don’t need a large label quantity. If you just started your business, you make frequent changes to your product labels, or are testing out a new design, our sheets are the way to go. If you need more than 1000 labels, custom printed rolls may be a more economical option for you.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions when it comes to custom sheet labels.

How do I order custom sheet labels?

You can order custom label sheets by visiting our custom labels quote page and starting your order. Once you’re on the quote page, select “Sheets,” enter your other label specifications, submit your artwork, and our team will take care of the rest!

How does the approval process work?

After you upload your design, you’ll be taken to a screen where you have the opportunity to align your artwork. Once you adjust it to fit within the safezones of your selected label template and submit it to us, one of our on staff artists will review it to make sure it meets standard printing requirements. Note that our print team may make adjustments to correct bleed and safe zone issues.

They’ll make sure your design is easy to read, aligned properly on the label, and more. If they notice any potential issues, they’ll immediately reach out to you about any further steps.

Can I receive a free proof?

We’ll provide a free digital proof with your order, so you can see what your label will look like on your sheet.

Do custom labels come laminated?

While we don’t currently offer lamination options for our custom labels on sheets, you can find lamination options available for our custom roll labels. We offer a gloss and matte label finish for printed rolls.

Can multiple designs be printed in the same order?

We offer multi-design printing on label sheets if your different designs are printed on the same size label, and material. Once you add your first design to your cart, you’ll have the option to either continue to checkout, or to add another design. Doing this applies a multi-design discount to your order.

What if I need a new design or to make adjustments?

Our design program, Maestro Label Designer, allows you to create label designs from scratch and browse customizable, pre-designed templates. Once you finish designing your label, you can order your labels printed by us.

Do you offer white underprinting on clear materials?

At this time, we don’t offer white underprinting for clear materials on sheets. However, we do offer this option for custom rolls.

How do I know how many labels I am getting in my order?

After you select the shape, size, and material for your custom sheets order, you’ll need to select how many sheets you want to order using the “Quantity” drop-down. The amount of total labels will be shown along with the amount of sheets.

How do I know which material I should choose?

Choosing your label material depends on how you'll use your label and where it will be applied. On the custom sheet labels quote page, there’s a helpful link near the material drop-down called “Compare materials” that covers the different types of materials available.

What is the minimum order size for custom sheet labels?

There is no minimum order size for custom sheet labels. You can order as little as one sheet, or as many as you need for your project.

How long will it take my labels to ship?

Once your artwork is approved, your labels will be printed and shipped in one to three business days.
