Print Settings

  • Always print a test sheet first to determine proper print settings and water resistance.
  • Adjust "Paper Type" to "Photo/Glossy" setting if test print is too light.
  • Adjust "Paper Type" to "Plain" setting if test print is too dark or there is too much ink.
  • This material should only be printed with an inkjet printer.

Tips related to Weatherproof Gloss Inkjet Material

  • Before you print onto a label sheet, first print onto a blank piece of paper. Place the sheet in front of the label sheet, and then hold the sheets up to a light to make sure the positioning is correct.
  • Sheets of weatherproof inkjet labels can be passed through the printer only once. Numerous runs through the printer can cause the label to jam.
  • Allow label to dry completely before stacking, handling or peeling the printed labels.
  • Before and after printing, handle label sheets by the edges of the sheet being careful not to get oil from your fingers on the printable label surface. Oil may cause smudging or smearing.
  • Prevent label sheets from being exposed to direct sunlight or flood lights.

  • Store inkjet label sheets in the original plastic clamshell packaging in a cool, dry place to avoid humidity. Troubleshooting Issues Related to Weatherproof Gloss Inkjet Material

  • Always print out one test sheet before running your entire job. Make sure to thoroughly evaluate the results on your test sheet and make necessary adjustments before printing the rest of your labels.
  • Ink not drying on the label is referred to as over-saturation. This may be caused by the DPI/quality level in your print quality being too high in an inkjet printer. If this happens, change your print setting options to "normal" or "fast draft." Also, having a DPI of 300 or 600 may help with the problem.

  • If you are experiencing alignment issues when printing with Maestro Label Designer or a PDF, verify the page scaling is set to none and un-check the “auto rotate and center” option in print settings. It may also be labeled as “Resize Page to Fit Printer Margins.”
