Even More Products You Could Be Making With Soy, Honey, and Beeswax

Updated 10/22/2020
Products you can make with soy, honey, and beeswax.

If you use soy, honey, or beeswax in your handmade products already, you're sitting on a goldmine of other product ideas. For tons of businesses, new product ideas can be hard to come by, require a ton of new ingredients, and/or be difficult to master – but not for you!

Take a look at a few different products you could make with the same ingredients you already have in your workshop. Use these ideas to expand your product line, and in turn, your business!

Products You Can Make With Soy

Soy wax is a natural wax made from soybeans. Because soybeans are a renewable resource, soy wax products can also be considered eco-friendly.

Candles

Soy wax is the perfect candle-making ingredient. The benefit to soy wax (over alternatives like paraffin wax) is that the candle burns cleaner, releasing only a little soot as it burns. Candles made with soy wax are also non-toxic, so they don't release toxins into the air as they burn either.

You can create your own candles with whole coffee beans inside, sprinkles, and much more to add a visual aesthetic that accompanies the lovely smell.

Beautiful and creative candles also make great gifts, so expanding this type of product line can bring about new customers and possibilities for your business.

Products You Can Make With Honey

Bees are good for the environment and honey is good for humans. People around the world have been ingesting it for thousands of years while also using it as a healing agent.

Foaming Bath Soap

To mix up a batch of foaming hand soap, add honey, sweet almond oil, and vanilla extract to liquid hand soap. It's that easy!

The honey and oil together are very hydrating, which is great for skin.

Bath Bombs

Bath bombs are soothing on the skin, so your customers will come back for more and more. The ingredients you need are warmed honey, baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, powdered milk, shea butter (or cocoa butter), and jojoba oil. Plus your favorite essential oil.

Before you get started on this one, though, make sure you have molds – they're critical to production but allow for a ton of creativity. Find different shaped molds to spice up your options.

Products You Can Make With Beeswax

Beeswax is created when honey bees consume honey and pollen. It's waterproof, eco-friendly, and even anti-fungal.

Lip Balm

Combine beeswax with a few other ingredients such as coconut oil, cocoa butter, vitamin E oil, and essential oils, and you have the perfect mix for soft lips.

Stick with edible ingredients since they're so close to the mouth and try out various essential oils for an array of different flavors and scents.

Body Butter

This easy-to-make product only requires beeswax and a few other ingredients. Use with shea butter, olive oil, and vitamin E oil for the perfect combination. You can also play with the use of essential oils to add fragrance.

Don't love the thick texture of body butter? You can customize the texture while you make it to better match the consistency of lotion.

Massage Bars

Equal parts cocoa butter, beeswax, and essential oils can be combined to make massage bars. The product gets its name from the addition of hard ingredients that massage the skin, like whole adzuki beans.

Create your own body soap massage bars by mixing the three ingredients above. Then pour it into a mold to harden.

Lotion

Beeswax helps trap water under the skin, which is why it helps keep your skin hydrated. In addition to beeswax, use any of the following ingredients to create a custom lotion product for your business: grapeseed oil, apricot kernel oil, jojoba oil, virgin coconut oil, vitamin E oil, borax, and vegetable glycerin.

Be sure to add your favorite essential oils as well.

Mustache Wax

This is an increasingly popular product for men with facial hair. It's an easy product to make and can be even easier to market – with no shave November, Movember, and winter all around the same time.

To make some stylin' 'stache wax for your business, you only need beeswax and an oil.

If you have any of the above ingredients, you're ready to expand on the great products you already offer. Search Pinterest or conduct a little research online for full recipes – or try to create one yourself.
