RoHS Compliance

RoHS Compliance
What is it?

Implemented in 2006, the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC was enacted by the European Union to restrict the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The directive bans the use of six hazardous materials: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). While not completely adopted in the US, parts of the directive have been implemented in some US states and cities and further legislation is underway.
What does this mean to you?
The RoHS Directive mandates that anything within the end product which can be identified as a homogeneous material (ex. paper, wood, glue, etc) must be tested. As such, the labels used on the product or its packaging would fall within the scope of the directive and be subject to compliance certification.
How can we help?
We have contacted our suppliers and determined that none of the hazardous substances as listed are knowingly used in the manufacturing process of our materials. We are pleased to report our products comply with the RoHS Directive.
