Printing Instructions

Here you will be able to enter in the product numbers of item(s) you ordered and receive detailed instructions, printer settings and other helpful tips before printing your labels.

All laser printers use toner instead of ink to print. If you are able to scratch away the toner on your label sheet, it probably means the toner did not fuse properly onto the sheet.

In most cases, this problem can be solved by changing your printer property settings. To change your printer property settings you will need to view your “Printer Properties” and locate what paper type is selected in the “Media Type” section of your printer properties. The default setting will commonly be “Plain Paper” or “Unspecified”.  We suggest selecting “Labels” or “Card Stock”. By changing this setting, you will increase the temperature at which the printer fuses the toner to the sheet.   Changing these settings should help you avoid smudging, scratching, or smearing of the toner on the sheet.

The most common reasons for this problem may be either unclean rollers or the rubber on the rollers has lost its density. We suggest cleaning the rollers with an alcohol based solvent first. If that's not the problem then you may need to replace the rollers. When the rubber loses its density it loses its ability to grip the label sheet and therefore it will not feed.

Also, note that in some cases there can be incompatibility issues with the label sheet and printer. If after cleaning you are still experiencing jamming please call 1-888-575-2235.

One of the most common reasons why paper jams occur is unclean printers. While printing labels, the paper may jam near the exit. This may be due to unclean rollers at the exit tray. It is recommended to keep the inside of the printer as clean and dust free as possible. It is suggested to use a lint free cloth and some alcohol based cleaner to clean the printer. Make sure you are using clean printer paper. We recommend you clean your printer every six months or so. Usually cleaning should be done every time you change cartridges.

No, nothing is wrong. Every printer on the market today has a fixed, maximum printable area. The area between where the ink or toner stops and the edge of the sheet is called the "Non-Printable Margins." There are a couple of ways to determine the size/spacing of the non-printable margin on your printer. The first way would be to consult your printer’s instruction or user manual to see if the data is in there. If your product is labeled “Inkjet Only,” it is not recommended for printing in a laser printer.  In many cases, the face sheet or adhesive on our “inkjet only” products will not withstand the heat of the laser printing process.  The high levels of heat from the laser printing process can result in the melting of the face sheet or cause the adhesive to ooze from the sheet.  These problems may lead to jamming that can potentially damage the printer.
