I have used Design Pro for years and have been happy with it. I have an Epson color photo R220 printer on which I can print color DVD/CDs, however, I can't use Desgin Pro projects with this printer. I have to make separate projects with Epson Print.

Avery Design Pro 5 is the software that we use both at work and at home. I have tried several retail software programs, and the Design Pro 5 has the most diverse options combined with a simple interface for designing label templates. Being an Avery program of course it has all the common labels styles and templates. You also have the ability to design you own template if you have special ordered a unique sized label. The program is very flexable and user friendly to meet most if not all of your needs.

I use Design Pro 5 regularly, and like it. It is easy to use and pretty intuitive. My favorite feature is the ability to print any number of labels on a given sheet, and choose which position on the page to start with, making each sheet usable in its entirety. My least favorite thing is that Avery doesn't stock every size and shape I need, so I can't use the program for labels not identical to ones made by them.

I use Design Pro as it has all of the label sizes that Online Labels carry. Online Labels are the only labels I use as the quality of their labels are the best in the industry for do it yourself printing. They are made of the best materials I have ever used.
Is easy to transfer your original design to a different size label with a quick click and then just size it to your new desired label size. Very easy to use!

I enjoy this program, but I don't like that you can only use the clipart out of it. It's very hard to copy and paste things into this program and most of the time I have to save items or text as a JPEG if I need to put it in. Otherwise, I find it very convienent to use.

The Design Pro 5 software works well for the labels I use. It allows me to create many different lables in one program. With the use of your vinyl labels and Epson Durabriht ink my labels are extra smear proof. Thanks for offering these kind of labels.

This email came from you as I am struggling to create a 2" label in Words, using Photoshop for the prep - because Design Pro does not work with my new printer and Nobody has done anything about those of us who love our Macs and will never buy a PC. So - I struggle on.

I'm not in love with Design Pro, but I own it and don't won't a second lable software program. My computer is already so loaded that it takes 10 to 15 minutes to cycle to the ready.

Excellent, easy to use, fits all types of labels, business cards and other forms. Works with the latest Windows software and can be incorporated into MS Office. The price is right, you can't beat free.

I tried this software via Avery Label. It worked fine for my logo creation. The complaint I have with it is the format it uses.
I can not as a non professional convert it to any format that I can use at printing places such as on line labels. I have taken it to several big box office stores and they can not print my labels or cards.

Design Pro 5 was recommended to us for it's simplicity and ease. Our projects are fairly simple and Design Pro allows us to create clean looking labels and name tags, all with one program. It's easy interface with Microsoft products allows us to import most any information (that we need most frequently) easily. The templates and design features match all of the Avery products that we use, so we don't need to worry about compatibility. For us, it is the ease and compatibility that we enjoy. I am sure other programs are able to accomplish the same or similar, but this was the first and most reasonable priced program we needed and has met all our needs. It has actually exceeded a few.

Overall this is a great program, especially considering it's free. But then again, it seems quality label design and other programs that encourage you to use the suppliers' products more frequently should be free. Plus it puts their company's logo and name on your desktop, something no amount of advertising money could do.
Plus:
Easy and intuitive with good help files when they are needed, plus it is feature rich. For example it lets you change the label template after you have finished the label, plus warning that you won't be able to use the “undo” feature to go back to the original label. You can of course change the template again as often as you want manually. There's a good selection of image enhancement tools, It does circular text plus can insert the date, time and serial numbers.
Mixed:
It gives you a choice of numerous bar codes though only some versions of this software allow serial numbers to be printed as bar codes. Text boxes can be given rounded corners but images can not. I find rounded corners on images both more common and useful. Inch increment design layout grid choices are infinite but the program doesn't support metric for this or any feature.
Minus:
I am surprised that it won't do right and left justification combined. It can't wrap text around an image, but that is a pretty high level task. Doesn't allow plug-ins, a feature which would encourage user created and shared enhancements.
Other:
I've never seen this feature anywhere but after taking two hours to sift through label web sites and software just to find the best label for what I needed, it would be appreciated. The ability to enter approximate label dimensions and have the program show me the closest choices. Drop downs for color, print methods and such would be bonuses.

Great program for Avery labels. The only problem I've found with this version over version 4 is that they changed the 5692 templet for the 5824 templet which doesn't exactly match the dimensions of the 5692 on the vertical level so if you try to use the top and bottom of the new templet you have to place the text box slightly above the border of the templet.

Design Pro 5 is easy to use - the wizard offer many pre-designed templates - making short order of my work! AND... it covers MOST ALL of the current labels out there! I highly recommend it! I Have the original design Pro at home. I thought that the new one would be better but it was not. The amount of grafics and pre designs were not the same as the older version. Othere then that the program is great.
