PROBLEM: Smearing or smudging on the label.

SOLUTION: Smearing or smudging on the label. Depending on whether you are using an inkjet or laser printer your answer will vary. When using an inkjet printer and you experience smearing or smuding you may need to simply lower the DPI quality setting for your printer.

Conversely, with a laser printer you may have to change your material type in the printer settings. The following table explains what settings work best for each specific material. Please note to only use these settings if you are experiencing smudging on your labels.

Problem 2. The ink is not drying on the label.

PROBLEM: The ink is not drying on the label.

The DPI quality settings may be too high.SOLUTION: Ink not drying on the label is referred to as over-saturation. This may be caused by the DPI/quality level in your print quality being too high in an inkjet printer. If this happens, change your print setting options to "normal to fast draft." Also, having a DPI of 300 or 600 may help with the problem.

Problem 3. Print alignment issues in Maestro Label Designer.

PROBLEM: Print alignment issues in Maestro Label Designer.

SOLUTION: When experiencing any alignment issues with Maestro Label Designer or a PDF, verify the page scaling is set to none and un-check the "auto rotate and center" option in print settings. It may also be labeled as "Resize Page to Fit Printer Margins."

Check your printer settings to make sure Auto Rotate and Center and Page Scaling are turned off.

Additionally, if you cannot get the PDF to display when printing with Maestro Label Designer, you may need to disable your pop-up blocker.
